
Orthoptics
The training period combines theoretical orthoptics and clinical exposure. Trainees work
under the direct supervision of a certified orthoptist and an ophthalmologist. The student
is provided with a basic foundation upon which he or she may fully build his or her
capability and willingness. The goal of this training program is to provide
ophthalmologists and orthoptists with in-depth knowledge and practical skills in
orthoptic assessments and management. The program focuses on the diagnosis and
treatment of strabismus, amblyopia, and other binocular vision disorders, combining
theoretical learning with hands-on clinical experience to ensure comprehensive
competency in orthoptic care.
1. Dry Lab Focus: Introduction to orthoptic techniques and assessment tools.
2. Wet Lab Focus on Hands-on practice of orthoptic diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
3. Clinical Experience Focus: Integration of orthoptic assessment and treatment in patient care.
